In 2020, Joe Biden did everything he could to convince America he was someone he wasn’t. He did an apt job of campaigning from his basement and hiding from the press, not that it would have mattered much except his handlers knew he would eventually say something to blow up the campaign.
Since his inauguration, Biden has denied his potential to fulfill many of his campaign promises. Let’s look at how the president turned the tables on himself and examine why so many voters don’t trust him. The reality is, while he campaigns against so-called “MAGA” Republicans and accuses them of election denial, etc., he is the worst denier of them all. If Republican candidates can harness Biden’s words and actions over the last 18 months, the 2022 midterm elections may be over before they even begin.
The Many Denials of Biden
While I’m not going to go into details about Democrats’ election denial campaigns in 2000, 2004, and 2016, there is a much broader pattern between this president and today’s Democratic Party. Let’s look at a few of the past apparent denials by this president and his cohorts.
In the wake of the 2020 presidential election, two competing messages arose. Trump stated that Democratic-led states used ballot harvesting and other mail-in voting tricks to steal the election. Biden and Democrats have argued election denial led to the January 6, 2021, riot on Capitol Hill and is dangerous to America’s democracy.
While the two sides fight over the issue, Biden slipped in something in the spring of 2021 that the media has largely ignored. After Georgia and Arizona reformed election laws to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat, the president went on a tirade. He accused Republicans of creating Jim Crow laws and racism. He completely denied a problem in past elections with proponents of political campaigns cheating on both sides.
Still, the Heritage Foundation created “A Sampling of Recent Election Fraud Cases.” It repeatedly shows there is a pattern of election integrity issues. Yet, Biden and Democrats refuse to acknowledge them in 2020 despite making a similar argument that election integrity was compromised in 2000 and 2004. In 2016, Hillary Clinton and numerous Democrats claimed Trump stole the election. Here’s a great video montage of them in their own words.
Economy and Inflation
Throughout 2021, Biden denied there were fundamental economic problems coming out of the COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. Chief among them was the economy. Democratic economists Larry Summers and Steven Rattner warned the Democrats not to approve the COVID relief bill in March 2021, known as the American Rescue Act over inflation concerns. Still, was little in the way of rescue in the legislation. Yet, the government again injected trillions of government dollars into the economy. It ultimately added enough money to overheat the economy.
Several challenges emerged at one time. Record-breaking government spending, a lack of manufacturing due to the lockdowns, and consumers ready to spend money led to a price shock. Everything climbed. On Tuesday, the government reported inflation rose higher than expected again.
Making matters worse, Biden denied he needed to move more slowly on climate change initiatives. He revoked the Keystone XL pipeline, banned new oil drilling leases on federal lands, and then ran to Saudi Arabia twice for help when gas supplies couldn’t keep up with demand.
Democratic policies led to the inflation problem. Yet, on Tuesday, September 13, he celebrated the “Inflation Reduction Act,” which economists again say will cause inflation to rise for a few years before dropping slowly over a decade. Of course, that was before the president added an additional $300 billion to the deficit by forgiving school loans. So, there go any potential savings according to the president’s narrative.
Finally, and not least, Biden denied his promise to unite America. He has become the reckless president he warned America about in Trump. He was never going to unite the country. You can’t insult millions of Americans and expect that to happen.
In 2021, he told Georgia voters they better “smarten up.” He’s labeled Republicans as racist. A few weeks ago tried to walk back calling voters who support his opposition “semi-fascist.” Days later, he gave an ominous speech with a communist red colored background and exclaimed that supposed “MAGA” Republicans are a threat to democracy. He later denied he was talking about GOP voters. Yet a review of the transcript shows he targeted Trump supporters, i.e., voters.
So, once again, he denied his own words. While Democrats try to paint Republicans with a broad brush and suggest candidates are election deniers and insurrectionists, they should be careful. Don’t they know there are videos and transcripts of them in their own words?
So, before you vote this fall, don’t take the heating rhetoric from the Left. They desperately need voters to believe their narrative if they have any chance of overcoming the odds stacked against them. As I wrote yesterday, the polls may be giving a false impression of the upcoming election. Democrats may be in bigger trouble than they are willing to admit publicly.
It’s right in line with denying the obvious. It’s a pattern.
