Is America undergoing a radical cultural shift that could have long-term consequences for the future of its citizens? I certainly believe so, and the child transgender issue is one of the most prominent examples of adverse societal changes. Since the 1960s, the country has evolved into a hyper-sexual culture that has devolved over time. The consequences couldn’t be any more significant than the one adults in government and education are thrusting on our kids. Instead of teaching them reading, grammar, math, science, civics, and history… some are pushing radical social agendas on America’s youth who will become tomorrow’s leaders.
In 2021, Virginia became the battleground over child indoctrination using Critical Race Theory (CRT). Parents in deep blue areas of the state turned out at school board meetings when their children started sharing what teachers told them in the classroom. The result was catastrophic for Democrats, who controlled the levers of power in the state for over a decade. Many who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 turned on the party. They helped elect Republicans from top to bottom. The governor’s office, the Lt. Governor’s mansion, the statehouse, the attorney general, and school boards flipped from blue to red.
Now, parental rights are once again on the ballot. Democratic Delegate Elizabeth Guzman is reintroducing an absurd piece of legislation. She wants to make it a felony or misdemeanor if parents don’t affirm their child’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Making matters worse, a simple charge by Child Protective Services (CPS) can harm one’s employment. Businesses and organizations often check CPS database records before offering work.
Apparently, Guzman believes the state should punish parents for parenting. What else could you call it? The issue infuriates parents who are pushing parental rights higher on the list of issues they will vote on.
Numerous Constitutional scholars say if the proposal passed into law, it would almost certainly be overturned in the courts as unconstitutional.
Regardless, the crazy proposed law isn’t stopping supposed moderate Democrats from campaigning with Guzman. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) recently campaigned with the controversial state lawmaker. It has to make you wonder if they are the moderates they champion themselves to be, especially as Spanberger fights for her political career.
Here’s the real question: Why aren’t Democrats more concerned about a child’s education than indoctrinating them with far-left ideologies?
It’s not hard to figure out. Liberals have been trying to transform America for decades. In 2008, Barack Obama said he intended to “radically transform America.” He wasn’t able to go as far as he wanted. Yet, today, the Left has taken over the party, and Joe Biden has tried to do what his former boss couldn’t. As they keep shifting the cultural goalposts every decade (or year-over-year, for that matter), the issues devolve, and too many Americans don’t think anything of it.
At the same time, educational standards are dropping precipitously. The New York Times reported that COVID policies and school closings were disastrous for America’s youth. It noted that for the first time since the 1970s, the National Assessment of Educational Progress tests tracking student achievement showed that 9-year-olds lost ground in math. Reading scores fell by the biggest margin in over 30 years.
Where are the teachers who are supposed to stand up for children’s futures? Where are the teacher unions? They are nowhere to be found.
The Left is trying to gaslight Americans into believing we are the crazy ones for refusing to allow children to be sexualized. Across the country, more stories are coming out about drag parties involving kids. Still, few want to say something over fear they could get canceled.
What about the children’s futures that are being canceled as adults confuse them about their sexuality?
Once again, Democrats want to use the power of government to control society and parents. If democracy is on the table, and many are worried about rights being taken away, this is one of the many issues voters should consider.
