Why Did a Federal Court Rule Student Loan Forgiveness Unconstitutional?

On Thursday, a US Federal Judge ruled that President Joe Biden’s half-a-trillion student loan forgiveness was unconstitutional. Why? Is there a good reason that he is denying college and graduate school loan borrowers relief?

The court noted the issue wasn’t whether or not it was a good policy. Instead, the ruling said the Biden administration improperly used the 2003 HEROES Act to come to the conclusion and that Congress didn’t authorize this act. In the video, I go into more details, but suffice it to say — this is one more example of how presidents in both parties continue to ignore the Constitution for political gain.

In today’s short video, I go into more detail about the judge’s decision and the conservative principles that are likely to doom Biden’s ruling, as well as my political thoughts on the harm and consequences of the policy.

Great Depression Warning Goes Off While Biden Touts Economy

By Don PurdumJanuary 27, 2023

Next week, President Biden plans to tout his economic success. It may be too soon. Americans have lost significant money due to inflation, job losses are mounting, and trade imbalances are re-appearing. In the latest government data, warning alarms are sounding off. One metric is the worst it’s been since the Great Depression, and other indicators suggest we’re in for a bumpy ride.

Of course, Biden knows what’s coming. So, his public relations tour will try to head off his political troubles. He’ll deflect, blame, and rinse and repeat.

Will it work?
